Sans: “actually, that spaghetti from earlier.” Papyrus eats his spaghetti, but he can’t taste it, hence his obliviousness to it's actual quality. So if Papyrus can’t experience something due to lack of a body part, then this should also hold true for his taste buds, or lack of taste buds.
Papyrus spaghetti skin#
Papyrus also points out that without skin he can't get cold. Undyne acknowledges that Papyrus doesn’t have a stomach, and thus is the last person who should be complaining about grease. Undyne: “So why don't we stand in Grillby's instead?” Undyne: “Papyrus, how can you stand this cold?” Of course if Papyrus is in fact eating his spaghetti, he should know the taste, right? Nope! The amount of spaghetti in the fridge doesn’t point to Papyrus’ lack of eating, but it instead means that Papyrus just makes so much spaghetti it’s impossible for any one person to consume. There’s at least one instance in the game where we hear about Papyrus eating, or rather drinking something. (Half of the fridge is filled with containers all labelled "spaghetti.")ĭoes the amount of spaghetti in his fridge and his apparent lack of awareness over the taste of his spaghetti imply that he simply doesn’t eat it? Why would he not eat his spaghetti? Regardless of how he might interpret other people’s reaction to his cooking, shouldn’t he realize it himself? Or are we to believe that despite his love for spaghetti he never once tried his own cooking? Perhaps he’s in denial, or his self confidence is too high to shake. Perhaps he doesn’t attribute people’s lack of enjoyment of his cooking to people outright disliking it. NO ONE'S EVER ENJOYED MY COOKING BEFORE…” Papyrus himself is aware of this to some extent. Undyne: “Man, no wonder Papyrus sucks at cooking.” Papyrus: “WILL MAKE YOU ALL THE PASTA YOU COULD EVER WANT!”ĭespite this, we know that his spaghetti is not quite as exquisite as Papyrus may lead us to believe. Papyrus: “FRET NOT HUMAN! I, MASTER CHEF PAPYRUS…” Papyrus: “JUST SO YOU COULD SHARE IT WITH ME?” Papyrus: “YOU RESISTED THE FLAVOR OF MY HOMECOOKED PASTA…” Papyrus: “WHO NEEDS THAT! YOUR FRIENDS ARE GREAT CHEFS!” Papyrus: “I BET THEY CAN'T EVEN MAKE SPAGHETTI!” Papyrus: “AFTER TASTING MY COOKING, THAT SEEMS POINTLESS, RIGHT?” Papyrus: “A FANCY SCHMANCY RESTAURANT!?!?” Papyrus thinks highly of his cooking skills, and greatly enjoys cooking. An attempt to explain Papyrus and Sans’ eating and sleeping habits, since the game seems to be a bit contradictory on them, specifically concerning Papyrus' sleeping.
